For an architect, the element of design doesn't stop with just architecture. The sense of scale, proportions, colors, textures and culture amalgamates into a design process that doesn't just end with buildings.
Wood Inc. was conceptualised on these line in 2014 as Architect, Anita Mohan, took to the design of furniture and products complimenting her projects. Starting her career in 2002, the base was laid very strong, handling technically challenging projects where design does not exist without function.
A lesson well learn, coz a thing of beauty is a feast to the eyes but a thing of beauty and function will be cherished forever.
The journey from there has been a very personalised one as we realised that each client has their very specific requirements and "Customisation" became the keyword in design of interiors and product.
Wood Inc. has worked with a number of Residences, Offices and Restaurants and draws design inspirations from traditional indian crafts , art and architecture . Designing a modern space but still still keeping the essence of tradition in terms of colors or texture or accents seem to be the key factor in deriving a fusion between contemporary and traditional outlook.
This is where Wood inc. found its niche in combining different materials and textures to create a space reflecting need of the project and its surrounding, a nd design didn’t stop with the interiors, the combination of unique materials went on into the creation of furniture, wall concepts etc that enhanced the design of the existing space.
Even mundane lifeless spaces can be spruced up with with a single piece of accent furniture. Still keeping the space as contemporary or ethinic as the client wants, these custom furnitures and designs were able to add a touch of class and the feel of a home with minimal effort.
Working with wide range of common material like wood, metal, corian, fabrics, paints and uncommon material like concrete and resin, different and creative ways for using these material became single the point of interest .
